Born in the Maryland suburbs, Ron (Bub) Yerby developed an interest in music at an early age. He made his first drum set out of 5-gallon buckets and plastic wrap and they sounded great! He then moved on to the kitchen sink, pots and pans, or whatever else was nearby. Years later, while accompanying a friend on guitar at the beach, Bub drummed on the bottoms of hotel trashcans until they broke. He didn't start playing an actual drum set until he was 19 years old.
Bub brought home a drum set one day and his father said, "What the hell is that?" "A drum set," he replied. "What are you gonna do with that?" "Play it," he said. He began immediately, and three months later he was in his first band. The rest is history. Picking up piano and then bass, Bub began to tinker with songwriting. Later, a friend lent him a guitar and amp, and he started playing guitar. Finally, he began singing, which allowed him to write and record entire songs. His natural inclination to express himself musically can be heard in his latest work, Carpet of Stars. Contact Bub to order Carpet of Stars music. To hear his earlier work, Mint and Lake Amnesia music is also available.
